Our final destination for this Malaysia trip was Langkawi, an island known for its natural beauty. We stayed at a new hotel called, The Villa Langkawi. The upside was that this was the biggest bed we slept in and most hotel-like, unhostel like place we stayed this whole trip. The downside was the amount of mosquitoes that were there. I might as well have moisturized my whole body with Tiger Balm, which actually sounds quite refreshing.

Look at those nomnoms. That Thai fried rice. Those garlic fried veggies. Them clams. That green curry. All I can say is yum.

After extensive traveling of Malaysia, when we got to our final destination we just found a beach and passed out for a whole afternoon. It was the rest we needed from walking around so much. Our hotel was right next to both Pantai Tengah and Pantai Cenang. Our hotel was actually much closer to Pantai Tengah, but the beach was very empty and from that beach we could actually see a much more lively Pantai Cenang so we decided to walk the extra amount to get there. For those of you planning on visiting, I suggest you buy some alcohol at the duty free shops surrounding the beach as it is very inexpensive. The sunbathing chairs cost 20MYR for a pair, which is not that bad at all.

Right behind the beach was a street (Jalan Pantai Chenang) full of restaurants, souvenir shops, and massage parlours. The one thing that was fairly upsetting was that I didn’t get my feet sucked on by little fishies with a foot massage…next time..next time I will get in on that action.

We ended up visiting this restaurant, Palm View. We got some deep fried squid, more Thai fried rice (cannot get enough of that), an oyster omelette, and more garlic fried veggies (garlic fried is always the safe choice…this is somewhere I will not stray and try to be adventurous).

For our last night, we went back to the beach and found the cutest little bar. They had bamboo mats on the sand with a tiny table. We ordered drinks and got some shisha. It was overall a very relaxing experience, sitting there, listening to the waves, and just taking in the chill atmosphere of the night.

I am so grateful to have been able to go on this trip and share this experience with these three girls. It’s not only about where you go but who you go with. Malaysia is an absolutely beautiful country with much to see and much to do. Next time if I were to come back to Langkawi, I would love to go visit the Langkawi Geopark. However,  I do not at all regret passing out on a beach as we were so exhausted. Till next time Malaysia…(which is actually in 3 days to go to the Future Music Festival Asia!!!)
